JUNE Mental Strength Course For Athletes

Elite athletes make mental strength training a priority. So why don’t we?

In a recent survey of athletes, only 13% said they spent time working on their mental strength when preparing for an event. In fact mental strength was bottom of the list in terms of their focus, behind; physical training, nutrition, stretching, hydration and sleep.

what people are saying about the course

It was an excellent experience. The course was really well structured and relayed the detail and information that we couldn't get from a 300-page book.
Designed to be applicable straight away, which is what our members loved, they already have a much more "I can" attitude.
Jonathan and Fiona run the course with such professionalism, a great four-week investment.

Mary Enright Gillies, Down Triathlon Club

I’ve realised that, since we started this course four weeks ago, I’ve been applying about half a dozen of your topics without really thinking about it. I gained a mental strategy to maintain motivation; whether that be getting out of bed or to just keeping going.
The course will benefit anyone who wishes to improve their performance and personal satisfaction by achieving a bit more.
I am pleased I did the course and I am confident that those 4 hours will be more productive in the long run than had I spent those 4 hours training on the bike, road or in the pool.

Mark Magorrian, Down Triathlon Club

Your coach for the four weeks is Jonathan Cairns.

He is a marathon and ultra marathon runner, a running coach and author of two books, The Plant Based Runner & From Marathon to Ultra. He studied Sport Psychology in IADT, Dublin with Dr Olivia Hurley & is currently a coach with Schull Triathlon Club.
